Favorite photographer of Budapest

Tamás Rizsavi is one of the best photographers in Budapest.

Tamás Rizsavi is a train driver and photographer; therefore means of transport often appear on his pictures. Moreover, he’s conquering the bridges of Budapest to shoot the sights of the capital from a whole new point of view. His Facebook page has 61 thousand followers. In search for the unique viewpoints (which means height and the top view in his case) Tamás have climbed all the bridges that can be climbed and has been thought a suicide-candidate many times because it.

The whole thing began with the Elizabeth Bridge years ago; they glued the Bridgeman name on him back then. But taking pictures from a top of a bridge is far from easy, even if the technical preparation is not calculated. For example: to shoot from the top of a bridge five authorizations are a must, just as an obligatory medical examination and the action should be discussed with the ambulance, police, firefighters and the disaster management.

The Hungarian urban photographer always tries to photograph the city from places where we live, where we travel day by day, and places that can’t be seen in our everyday life. No surprise that he won the Hungarian Metro Photo Challenge competition several times. He worked at the BKK as a contracted photographer, chronicled all trains, trams, buses, and trolleybuses of the country. Although many of his photos are about railway stations to this day, yet, the main role is for Budapest, the whole.

As he says, he really loves this city, and don’t want to leave it unlike many others. He’d rather like to point out what looks this city like through different eyes. His favorite Budapest themes are Elisabeth and Megyeri Bridges, his favorite spot for photographing is the metal bodied transmission tower on the Hármashatár Hill that offers unparalleled views.
