This is what we are looking forward the most.
Summer is here finally, and so does the outdoor theater season, which is one of the most exciting times of the year. Budapest Summer Festival is the biggest cultural festival in the country that has many things to offer this year. In the range of the event, we can find about 120 programs, even more colorful than usual, including special and large format productions, and countless world stars from 1 June to 7 September. This year's Budapest Summer Festival awaits us with an even more colorful and attractive offer than before. In addition to the classical concerts, jazz, world music and crossover concerts, a wide range of children's theater performances, literary walks, interactive programs, jazz, world music and crossover concerts await.
Giacomo Puccini's outstanding and perhaps most well-known three-premiere work, Turandot, will open the summer opera season, starring Romanian soprano Cristina Pasaroiu and Argentine opera legend José Cura. Imre Kálmán's most famous and popular operetta in the world, „Csárdáskirálynő” will be presented with the participation of the Budapest Operetta Theater and the orchestra, as well as the ballet. It will be a real curiosity to see the romantic "white" ballet Giselle created from the German legend on the stage of Margaret Island, performed by the Novosibirsk State Academic Opera and Ballet Theater. This year's must-see dance performance is the large-scale dance show of the Mediterranean, the Barbarian nights by the French choreographer, Hervé Koubi. In the middle of August, traditional Georgian folk culture will be performed with a spectacular and dynamic dance performance for the first time on the Margitsziget Open-air Stage by the Sukhisvili Georgian National Dance Group.
