The food, the drink and the concert.
Although February is a short month, there is no shortage of exciting programs. It's February's carnival time, so we'll have countless carnival parties, but there are also some other exciting programs in town. We collected 3 of our favorites:
XIII. Budapest Mangalica Festival
The Mangalica is a Hungarian breed of domestic pig that grows a thick, woolly coat similar to that of a sheep. On this event the best mangalica breeders and products, locally made mangalica delicacies and live mangalica pigs await in the center of the capital. Visitors can directly meet breeders and primary producers from all over the country, and in many cases, buy the product from the owner who has produced it. In addition to mangalica products, you will find excellent Hungarian food, great bands, children's programs, locally baked mangalica dishes, whole roast piglets, excellent wines and brandy, and the inevitable cooking competition.

It a unique band in the whole world: its members are mainly gypsy musicians, and besides classical music (among others Liszt, Bartók, Kodály, Hubay, Brahms, Sarasate, Strauss) they also play traditional Hungarian gypsy music. Contrary to its name, it had 140 members at the time it was established, and today it has 138 members. If you love folk music, don't miss this mesmerizing concert!
