For two days, Hall „B” of Millenáris Centre will be filled with the best pieces of Hungarian gastronomy. The ’Seventh Fair of Handmade Hungarian Flavours’ will be organized on 29-30 March – visitors can select from the most precious, high-quality specialties. The aim is to popularize the work of small producers and the unique flavours of the country.
Delicious pastry goods, traditional meat products, plenty of sweets will be presented, the best palinka and wine products will make the weekend even more unforgettable. In addition, the event has a specific theme every time, now it will all be about cheese. It’s not only one of the most common food the hundreds of types of which can be used for hundreds of dishes, but its physiological effects are quite favourable, too. Even so, cheese consumption of Hungary still lags behind, therefore the purpose is to make this delicious food and all the dairy products more popular.
You can taste all together 5000 flavours of the 150 exhibitors, small producers of whom more than 30 are cheese masters. 72 thousand liters of milk will be processed for the fair, 6000 kilogramms of cheese will be presented. Lucky visitors can taste the differences between products on the shelves of the supermarkets and the ones manufactured „at home”, in small-scale market gardens.
It’s not only the unique flavours to introduce the best pieces of Hungarian gastronomy, but entertaining stage programs will put visitors up to the secrets and knacks of the process of cheese production or churning. You can also learn about the most delicious types of cheese of Transylvania from local cheesemakers wearing authentic folk dresses and get to know the production of one of the most popular sweets of Hungary, the famous túrórudi.
