November's most anticipated cultural programs
Posted by Ágnes Taraszovics · Oct 30, 2015

This weekend is for Halloween, pumpkins and trick or treat, but life does not stop after November 2. There will be some really great concerts in Budapest, for example.

Habana Social Club concert @ MOM Cultural Center

The Cuban team is often mentioned as the successor of the Buena Vista Social Club, comes on stage on 6 & 7 November. Budapest is the first stop of their Real Mente Cuba tour, so during this two evening several Latin American world hits can be heard in acoustic reworking. The biggest Cuban hits resound: Flor palida, Chan – Chan, Bailando, Vivir Mi Vida, Che commandante, Guantanamera, Caballo viejo, Represent Cuba, and Se que te amo. This concert is delight for all ages: the authentic scenery, the Cuban dancers in colourful costumes, the atmosphere of Havana’s weekday, the special screenings… We think that this hot summer, Cuban vibe is something you must see at the end of the cold days of autumn!

Slash @ Papp László Budapest Sports Arena

Slash, the iconic American rock guitarist, songwriter and film producer who has amassed album sales of over 100 million copies, garnered a GRAMMY Award and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame also comes to Budapest in November 2015. To be exact on November 18, and I don’t know what I’m going to do until then. He arrives with their headlining world tour, Slash: featuring Myles Kennedy and the conspirators – Slash (Guitar), Myles Kennedy (Vocals), Todd Kerns (Bass & Vocals), Brent Fitz (Drums) and Frank Sidoris (Guitar & Vocals). This “World On Fire” European fall tour includes the Budapest concert, with a special guest: Raveneye.

Andrea Bocelli @ Papp László Budapest Sports Arena

The world-famous tenor returns to Hungary on 22 November after 2 years break. Bocelli will perform from the most popular classic operas, well-known Italian and Advent songs and hits from his own pop albums. Don’t know who is he? Well, his biggest hit was Con te partiro, a.k.a Time To Say Goodbye which broke a number of sales records. The tenor will be accompanied by the Hungarian symphony orchestra and choir, conducted by Marcello Rota. Andrea Bocelli has sold over 80 million albums so far, and releases a new album almost every year. And between two albums he makes joint productions with the biggest stars of pop culture, such as Ariana Grand in the clip below.

Cinemusic @ Müpa

Cinemusic is the joint film concert of Classic Radio and The Dohnányi Orchestra on November 22. Yes, unfortunately it’s on the same day as Andrea Bocelli. But if you prefer the popular genres, than no question: your place is here. Classic Radio 92.1 organizes the Cinemusic-concert for the fifth time, which was always a great success in previous years. The best soundtracks of the film music world, performed by the Dohnányi Orchestra, conducted by Gábor Hollerung… sounds great, doesn’t it? As in the previous years: many surprises will be on this event that we cannot tell yet. But we can tell: many novelties will spice up this selection of high-quality film music.
