The legendary tenor José Carreras visits our country within the framework of his last world tour.
José Carreras is one of the world's most famous tenors. As a conclusion of his oeuvre, Carreras started the "A Life in Music" tour, a final world tour, which arrives in Budapest on 20 January 2017.
"I am pleased to sing in this wonderful city, even more so, that in this special Arena. I remember the great Hungarian audience, people who know my music, who are generous and are close to my heart." said the artist.
Carreras will be accompanied by the Dohnányi Orchestra during his concert in Budapest, conducted by David Gimenez. Carreras brings operas, operettas, musicals and songs from the turn of the century to life with the help of a soprano singer.
"These songs have always moved me. Every time I hear them, I get excited: so much passion and emotion are in them. In all these songs it is the passion, the emotion, a feeling in my heart and soul that I attempt to express with my voice. It is my musical ode to life,” said Carreras.
Jose Carreras celebrates his 70th birthday a month before the concert in Hungary, so the last tour promises a truly unforgettable concert. Carreras intends, when he retires from performing, to fully devote himself to his foundation and its work in the fight against leukemia, “to try to give some hope to people who are suffering from the disease”.
