Macaron Day is finally here!
Posted by Mia Balogh · Mar 12, 2018

All you need is spring, sunshine, love… and a macaron, of course. ;)

Spring has finally arrived to Budapest, and after all those dark and snowy (sometimes rainy) winter days, it is fantastic to feel the sunshine, the smell of flowers, the touch of your spring jacket… and of course the upcoming Macaron Day, which will be held on 20 March in Tesla Budapest (district VII, Kazinczy Street 21/C).

Try these sweet little French pastries and enjoy an afternoon with your friends – a couple of hours when you don’t care about calories, of course. ;) At the event, you can buy macarons of course but there will be a macaron competition, too. ‘Macaron of the Year’ will be voted by a professional jury in two categories: ‘optional’ and ‘spicy’. For the latter, creators should use some kind of exciting spice(s).

The entry for the event is not for free, tickets are available for 1900-2500 HUF, but in this price, there is also a delicious macaron included. Enjoy!

About Macaron Day and macarons:

The annual Macaron Day in Budapest is inspired by the ‘Jour du Macaron’, held on the same day in Paris and by the Macaron Day in New York City. It's dedicated to the famous French macaron, a round, flourless, often almond-based crunchy pastry sandwiched together with a soft creamy centre. The history of the cake dates back to a 9th century Italian monastery, but if you are more interested in the present and future of this cute and sweet little pastry, then taste it (or more of it) on 20 March in Tesla.
