Our favorite brunch places in Budapest
Posted by Réka Szentesi · May 12, 2014

In the past few years the idea of going out for a good brunch has spread over Budapest too.

Personally, breakfast is my favorite meal of the day. Especially on a calm, sunny weekend morning (or for those who spent the night out, early afternoon) a good coffee and a nice brunch can be the best starting of a perfect day. Let me recommend some of the best brunch places of Budapest. And what is more important for the late risers: these places will serve you breakfast all day long.

1. Café Panini

A friendly, small café with lovely interior: books and old pictures on the walls make it homelike. Café Panini, as its name suggests, offers a wide selection of locally made paninis and bagels, French toasts, omlets and salads. Fresh ingredients provided by a nearby local market (Lehel market), special coffees and not just morning meals for friendly prices, this is what Café Panini can give you.

Address: 1137 Budapest, Radnóti Miklós Street 45.

2: Most Bistro

In one of our previous articles we have already suggested you to visit Most Bistro (http://budnews.hu/news/gastronomy/37/the-top-5-bistros-in-budapest) during your free evening hours. Now we recommend you to visit it for a good brunch too. Most offers you brunch menu from 10.30 to 16.00 for a reasonable price, but you can also choose á la carte breakfast from their menu. The huge proportions of food will surely not leave you hungry. Sit in the calm courtyard at the back, or choose a table inside the bistro, its unique atmosphere and the great food will surely make you want to come back again.

Address: 1066 Budapest, Zichy Jenő Street 17.

3: Cserpes Milk Bar

Ever since Mr Cserpes opened his very first Milk Bar, it has been one of the most popular breakfast places in Budapest. What is unique about the place is that Cserpes is a popular dairy brand of Hungary, known for its homelike tastes. Cserpes represents the healthy lifestyle by not adding any preservatives and any artificial food additives. In the Milkbar you can choose from the many types of yoghurts, locally made sandwiches, pastries, salads, fruits and of course coffee, hot chocolate and fresh made shakes.

Address: 1052 Budapest, Sütő Street 2.

4. Á table!

If you love that certain „je ne sais qui”, Á table! is the perfect brunch place for you. The French bakery offers everything you can expect from a real boulangerie. Though the bakery is really small, the French atmosphere and the perfect pastries will surely enchant you. A wide selection of freshly baked bread, croissant, quiche and brioch with an unbelievable smell will make you feel like home, not to mention the breakfast menu they offer from 7.00 to 11.00. The classic French petit déjeuner consists of fresh orange juice, coffee, croissant, bread and different types of jam and butter.
