Are you looking for some refreshment on a hot summer day in Budapest? Would you like to have an ice cream? Then join us on our virtual tour to the best ice cream shops of the city. We are sure that you will like these parlours, ice cream flavours – from the classic chocolate to the little bit wilder fantasy ones – and even the prices.

Fragola

If you take a walk in Budapest, you can find several Fragola ice cream parlours. You can taste there many extraordinary flavours, for example Apple pie, Chili fondante, Basil-lemon or Mascarpone-chestnut for less than 1 euro (280 HUF). If you prefer the classic flavours, don’t worry: you can choose Strawberry, Chocolate cake, Ginger or Pistachios. Whatever you choose, you will ask for more.

Address: they have various spots in the city, for more details take a look at their Facebook page.

Gelarto Rosa

Are you looking for the combination of delicious ice cream and a beautiful shape? Then try Gelarto Rosa at the St. Stephen’s Basilica. You will see where to go, because there are always a lot of tourists and locals standing there in a queue. Their secret is simple but great: cold, creamy and really good ice cream served in beautifully arranged rose shape. Try their sorbets or macarons, as well, you won’t be disappointed.

Address: 5th district, Szent István tér 3.

Daubner Confectionary

For those who have already tasted the fantastic cakes of Daubner, the name of this confectionary means good quality and delicious morsels. Their ice cream tastes good, as well, and the prices are quite friendly so for us it was not a question to put Daubner on the list of the best ice cream parlours in Budapest. We recommend you to go to the Buda-side of the city for their ice cream and to taste for example Raspberry-quark.

Address: 2nd district, Szépvölgyi út 50.

Levendula Artisanal Ice Cream Shop

Atmosphere of Provence, excellent Italian and Hungarian ingredients, and the fruit flavoured ice-creams do not contain milk. This is what you can experience if you buy ice cream in Levendula Artisanal Ice Cream Shop. You can taste classic and special flavours, like lavender-lemon, strawberry-balsamic vinegar or Tihany camembert.

Not far from Astoria, you can find the small ice cream shop called Valdocco, where you can get a scoop of ice cream for only 150 HUF, 0.5 Euros. So you can taste more flavours for your money, for example Chocolate, Strawberry, or a little bit more special ones for example Kinder chocolate, or you can choose a cold, creamy, lactose free dessert, as well.
