It won’t be a question anymore for you, if you take a look at the short list of our favourite cafés in Budapest.

If you are a coffee lover, then International Coffee Day (also known as Coffee Day or National Coffee Day) must be a red letter day in your calendar. The annual event, held on 29 September is not only for the celebration and enjoyment of the popular beverage, but to promote fair trade coffee and to raise awareness for the situation of the coffee growers, as well. The cafés of the world celebrate Coffee Day, as well, for example by free or discounted cups of coffee, coupons and special offers, even on their social media sites.

In Hungary, some of us celebrate Coffee Day, most of the coffee lovers do it with a cup of their favourite type of the beverage, in their most loved cafés. If you are in Hungary on 29 September, let us suggest you some of our favourite cafés to celebrate.

Opened in 1984, the elegant and exclusive New York Café gives you not only a cup of really good coffee, but memory-drops of Hungarian history and literature, too. Writers, actors, journalists, artist loved the atmosphere here, and the spot is still popular today, in the beautiful building of the Boscolo (formerly New York Palace) Hotel.
