5 terraces to try in Budapest this spring
Posted by Mia Balogh · Apr 5, 2017

Spring is finally here! Enjoy the first really warm sunny days on a nice terrace – we give you a couple of ideas where to find the best terraces in the city.

Déryné Bistro

Let’s begin with the Buda-side of the city: our favourite here is definitely Déryné Bistro, where anyone can find their favourite in the excellent food and drink offer. If you are a fan of good music and weekend brunches, too, then we are sure that you will love this place and you’ll think that their nice terrace is just a great bonus here.

Address: 1st district, Krisztina Square 3.

Fröccsterasz

If you are spending your time in the City, near Deák Square, you can’t avoid Fröccsterasz. This spot, opened for this spring on 30 March is a popular place among city dwellers and tourists, the young and the old. This spot is always crowded but friendly. Not the cheapest choice, if you ask us, but the prices are acceptable.

Address: 5th district, Erzsébet Square

Hermina Terrace

While walking in Városliget, you will spot Hermina Towers and at the building it will be very easy to find Hermina Terrace. Just take the stairs and enjoy a nice coffee, lemonade, the fantastic view or some freshly made food. You can enjoy a nice breakfast (for example a fresh croissant and a cappuccino) here, choose from their daily offer for lunch, or have something nice from their grill. Enjoy your meal!

Address: 14th district, Hermina út 17., Hermina Towers, at the City Park

Bálna Terrace

If you have a few hours before the party starts, or you are planning a date (or maybe just want to go out somewhere with your friends or your dog), choose Bálna Terrace. Some people say that they weren’t really satisfied with the service there but we have never experienced such a thing while spending our time there.

Address: 9th district, Fővám Square 11-12.

Amber’s French Bakery

Take a short walk from Bálna Terrace, and on the other side of Fővám Square, you will find a super place called Amber’s French Bakery. Literally, it is not a terrace but the spot has a nice one where you can enjoy a strawberry lemonade and a croque monsieur and nice view to the Great Market Hall by the way.

Address: 5th district, Fővám Square 5.
