Are you a movie fan? Would you like to enjoy some of the best ones in Budapest, as well? Then visit one or two of the alternative cinemas of the Hungarian capital, you won’t regret it.
Bed Cinema
The Bed Cinema has opened last year in Buda Entertainment & Gastro Centre, and it is so unique and rare that it is the second one in Europe. The tickets are a little bit more expensive than in a multiplex cinema (5555 HUF for two grownups, or two grownups with at most two children under 10), but you will get much more experience for your money: a home-like environment and really good popcorn. In April, you can watch here for example Home, the new Cinderella movie or Fast & Furious 7.
Budapest Rooftop Cinema
Giving the unique possibility to see the city from above and watching a movie, Budapest Rooftop Cinema on Corvintető is a really good choice for a nice late spring or summer evening. The place is exclusive but friendly, where you are welcome with company or alone, as you wish. We recommend this open-air cinema for those who like film classics, for example Taxi Driver, and for those who are not afraid of the changeful weather.

Holdudvar Garden Cinema
Have you ever been to Holdudvar in Budapest? If yes, maybe you have tried their open-air cinema, too. If you haven’t tried it yet, you will have the possibility to do it this year: Holdudvar, the well-known summertime spot, club, restaurant and art gallery reopens on 24 April, and we can’t wait to see their film list for this summer.
Kinema Kolor
If you have enjoyed a hot Saturday night party in Budapest, and you would like to chill out on Sunday by watching a film in a unique place, in real comfort, than choose Kinema Kolor. This cinema can be found in the popular spot called Kolor in Király Street, and you can be sure that on their list, there are popular films but not those hackneyed ones. For example, the next one will be an award-winning French movie, La vie revée des anges.
Budapest Secret Cinema
You can never know when and where the next occasion will be, which film will be on the program – the organizers reveal the details only right before the event, that’s what makes the secret cinema occasions so exciting and extraordinary.

Did you know?
There used to be a drive-in in Budapest, in the 19th district, where the fans of movies and cars could have had a great time. In August 2014, they wrote on their Facebook page that the place faces a temporary closing because of technical problems but as far as we know, they haven’t reopened since then.
