Luxury activities in Budapest
Posted by Ágnes Taraszovics · Aug 14, 2015

We made a really special compilation for this week: budnews shows the weary elite's favorite places in Budapest.

We recommended the downtown rooftop terraces and Margaret Island’s peaceful clatter several times if you desire a little rest, but there are some other places where you do not just "jump in". Where smart casual is the minimum.

Yacht on the Danube

If you would like to sail on a luxury yacht in a breathtaking environment, our ultimate choice is Marina Bay Budapest, which is one haunt of Wiking Yacht Club. The impressive Marina Coast is the favorite port of young sailors and their friends. The harbor has a capacity for 80 vessels and awaits sports lovers with football-, badminton- and tennis courts and we can arise into the cool water in a unique barge beach. By the way, the base of the aforementioned Wiking Yacht Club is on the Hajógyári Island, where qualified sailors ensure the excellent technical and aesthetic condition of the yachts. Everyone can find here the perfect rental boats matching for the occasion and their needs. Choose either a sporty motor boat or take your journey with a sophisticated luxury yacht, equipped with many extras, this will be an unforgettable experience on board!

Just a little golf

Just like sailing, golf is the sport of the elite, but there are levels as well. And at the peak of the hierarchy there is Academy Golf Club Budapest, with its 9 hole PAR 30 golf course and 2,500 square-foot practice area. And there are even more

possibilities at the most centrally located city-golf course of the capital: driving range; 28 staged hitting place; chipping-, pitching-, putting greens; a two storey, 600-square-foot clubhouse; restaurant; cozy terrace; a 450 square meters big event hall; Academic Learning Center certified and supervised by the PGA of Hungary; accredited Head Pro management; qualified PGA instructors and Golf shop. Six Par3 and 3 Par4 sections alternate each other on the varied and exciting contoured path, with significant level differences, preserved natural vegetation, bunkers and artificial water obstacles, which guarantee adventurous game for the visitors. The fairways running on the side of the Buda hills and the large greens promise a spectacular competition.

If you need some 18+ entertainment...

Than we recommend our favorite wine bar, Doblo Wine & Bar, where I can afford only a small slice of the wine list, but maybe you don’t. At Doblo, there is everything: great wines from the biggest wineries, craft and bio wines and wines of upcoming young Hungarian winemakers. Their specialty is that they hosts smaller bands almost every day of the week, and occasionally delightful wine tastings are held as well. Their cheese and meat dishes contain only homemade and traditional smoked delicacies, Vecsés pickles and old-fashioned bread selection. Plus add the incomparable, cozy interior design to the formula: the brick facades and the enormous headroom make me feel in a New York loft. Only the wines are better.
