Yoga – living with ease

Finding ease in this busy world is difficult, but fortunately there are things you can try to make life simplier. Yoga can help you living with ease – you only have to find the trend that fits you.

I used to be one of those who thought yoga was something abstract for spiritual people only. Then I came across one of Tara Stiles’ yoga videos on YouTube, and it made my whole view different. She was someone talking about yoga as simple as it is – she didn’t try to make a fuss about it, and only suggested to give it a try. So I did. The world of relatively convoluted poses and challenging asanas (even their name sounded weird back then) became simplified and practicing revealed new horisonts of what I’m capable of doing.

Yoga is a way of getting to know yourself better. Nobody works the same as others, so not all kind of yoga is good for everyone. You have to find the trend that fits you.

Fortunately, there are plenty of options in Budapest to learn and practice yoga. From traditional hatha yoga to astanga or vinyasa flow classes – the choice is yours to make. By most studios the first yoga class is free or you can get trial tickets to experience various trends before choosing the right one.

Spring offers great opportunities to get into yoga, and as the weather gets better, you can count on guerilla yoga classes held outdoors at various parks of the city. If you prefer practicing indoors, try some of the following yoga days.

On the 19th of April, you can get to know astanga – a dinamic style of yoga at Jurányi Ház. It will be a special day for Budapest’s astanga yoga schools, because they’ll represent themselves at the same place, with different classes. After an introduction to astanga, you can learn about breathing techniques and bandhas, learn about the relationship between astanga and traditional hatha yoga, try backbends and relax with mantras after practicing.

Three days later, on the 22nd, a special event's held at A38 - you can celebrate Earth's Day by practining yoga with live music. 108 sun salutations is a ritual, and this time you can be a part of it, practicing yoga on a boat, listening to live music. The entry is free, but you have to registrate for the occasion, since the boat's space capacity is limited.

Once you find the yoga trend that fits you well and start practicing you'll learn a lot about yourself and limits, that can be overcome. Living with ease comes natural, you only have to pay attention to your body. Yoga helps you learn this.

If you'd like to try other trends of yoga as well, Kék Lótusz Életmódközpont ( Blue Lotus Lifestyle Center) is waiting for you on the 26th og April, with their Hello Spring! Yoga Day. Contact yoga, balance, backbends and vinyasza flow can be tried out.
