In cooperation with two travel bloggers, Travelsupermarket.com has made their list about the coolest spots in Europe, and of course Budapest is on their list, with the popular 7th district.
If you like Budapest (we are sure that you do, because you are on our website reading something about the city), you must agree with us that our capital is an awesome and pretty cool place.
Travel website Travelsupermarket.com agrees with us – they have partnered with bloggers Adam Goffman, who runs "Travels of Adam," and Emily Ray from "The Cosy Traveller" to find out which neighbourhoods are the coolest in Europe, and they think that Budapest’s 7th district has a place on their list, too.
The ranking was broken down into three categories - culture, creativity, and value - and they have absolutely appreciated for example small independent coffee shops, vintage fashion stores, independent bike shops, co-working spaces and art galleries/studios. Penalty points were subtracted for areas that had high numbers of big chain brands such as Starbucks, Costa and Pret a Manger.
The winner was Kreuzberg in Berlin, home of the well-known Checkpoint Charlie, cultural festivals and lots of Spring and Summer programs (for example nice picnics). So if you travel to Berlin, don’t miss it – and if you arrive to Budapest, visit 7th district for a great vintage fashion shop or a nice beer or “fröccs” in a ruin pub.
