Posted by Budnews · Oct 3, 2017

Shops, workshops and fairs: the map includes 150 locations in Budapest that are linked to design.

Hard to find the best places in a new city, right? It is true for bars and accommodation, and of course, for shops. But the good news is that Budapest Design Map, the most comprehensive map of the city is out! And it is exactly what the name suggests: the (almost) complete map of the city’s design scene with 150 places and brands. The map lists 150 locations in Budapest, related to design: furniture shops, fashion and jewelry design showrooms, workshops, museums and professional institutions. The Budapest Design Map can be found at 200 spots of the city (tourist information offices, design shops and some downtown entertainment venues), but – which is even better – they made an application for both iOS and Android with all the information.

This detailed offline app is based on a street level map of the city and also featuring key public transport information and rendered landmarks. Design map app gives a rich directory with key information (address, opening times, etc.), photos and descriptions of the featured design spots, which can be sorted alphabetically, and by category. With Budapest Design Map you can find the right specialty store, or you can also create a Budapest tour in the spirit of design. The points on the map mark mainly the shops, showrooms and workshops of Hungarian designers, but also international design furniture distributors, fairs and specialty workshops have been featured.
