St. Stephen’s Basilica is a Roman Catholic basilica named after the first king of Hungary, whose right hand is housed in the reliquary. It was built in 1905 in a neo-classical style and today is the third largest church building in Hungary. Ever since its completion, it has played an active role in the musical community; head organists of the church have always been highly respected, recognized musicians and the building has housed numerous classical music, choral music and contemporary music performances. It’s choir often performs in different parts of Europe as well as at home.
