‘It’s Not the Time of My Life’ by Szabolcs Hajdu won Crystal Globe.
Here comes another Hungarian movie success: Szabolcs Hajdu and the crew won top prize in Eastern Europe's one and only A-list film festival in Karlovy Vary. Hajdu’s film competed in a 12 participant field and the creators beat them all. Next to the Crystal Globe, they also got a $25,000 check. And the cherry on top: Hajdu got the best actor award, because he not only directed the movie, but also played the main role.
After receiving the award, Szabolcs said:
“Thank you very much. When we aired the movie two days ago, I saw that the Czech audience reacts in the same way as ours. I felt like they are really close to us – and not only in geographical terms. I have the same experience here and at home, I felt like we’re in the same boat. This prize is a big surprise for me. Many, many thanks to my wife and my children. "
