We are witnessing an unforgettable show next week: the Spanish Riding School in Vienna, which is the only institution in the world that has practiced for more than 450 years and continues to cultivate classical equitation in the Renaissance tradition of the Haute Ecole. And they can also be found on UNESCO’s list of intangible cultural heritage of humanity.

The „dancing” Lipizzaner horses are breathtaking: the move in perfect harmony with the music. This production is the result of many years of work in which the perfect figures are born from horse and rider joint work. Initially, the Spanish Riding School of Vienna was responsible for training the horses of the Austrian royal family, but now it has an important role in preserving the classic riding. The historic uniforms, the perfect harmony between horse and man takes us back to the past. Previously, these noble animals could be found in the court of all the ruling families, but now only Vienna preserved the Lipizzaner equestrian education.

The Lipizzaners are Europe’s oldest cultural horse breed. They are intelligent and lively horses bred from Spanish, Italian and Arab bloodlines. With their classic physique and grace they are ideally suited for the representative style of the High School of Classical Horsemanship.

Now, by watching Monarchy Waltz show, you can witness the result of years of training of horse and rider in the unique setting of the baroque era. In the performance you get to see horses in various stages of their training, from the young, boisterous colts to the fully trained School stallions, which enchant the audience with their performance in the School Quadrille, the Schools on and above the Ground as well as in Work on the Long Rein.
