102-year-old video about the bustling life in Budapest

During the last decades, a lot of things have changed in the Hungarian capital city but not everything – it is quite interesting to see that Budapest was so alive a hundred years ago, as well.

The Facebook page called ‘Az első világháború napról napra’ (WWI day to day) has shared a unique short film recently. The ‘Dunaparti korzó’ (Promenade at the Danube) shows us the social life in the City in the early years of the 20th century – experts say that this silent film dates back to 1915.

It is interesting to see how bustling life in the city was back then, especially because WWI has already started. The only sign of it - in our opinion - is the increased number of uniforms. Otherwise, we would think it’s still the Belle Époque.
