Budapest among the most creative cities of the world
Posted by Mia Balogh · Jan 14, 2016

The Hungarian capital is the first in the Central European region to be awarded the title “City of Design”.

Budapest is one of the world’s most exciting and most beautiful cities, but now we can say that the Hungarian capital is also one of the most creative cities on the globe.

Budapest has been chosen to be one of the 47 newcomer cities on UNESCO’s Creative Cities Network’s list in December, after Design Terminal submitted an application to join the ranks of this organization successfully. Being part of this list is not only flattering but it promises several benefits in the future.

Launched in 2004 and now comprising 116 Member Cities, the UNESCO Creative Cities Network aims to “foster international cooperation with and between cities committed to investing in creativity as a driver for sustainable urban development, social inclusion and cultural vibrancy” – reads on UNESCO’s website.

The next meeting of the Creative Cities Network is scheduled for September 2016 in Östersund (Sweden).
