This year, 62 ice cream creations entered the ‘Ice Cream of the Year’ competition, here are the winners.
Are you a big ice cream fan? Probably yes, because if you read this, you must have clicked on our article. ;) Well, let us assure you that we love good ice cream, as well, so we are happy to announce you the winner of the annual ‘Ice Cream of the Year’ competition in Hungary.
The combination is called passion fruit and caramel, and it was created by confectioner Norbert Dobó from Balatonfüred. He also received the silver medal for his honeycomb toffee and vanilla creation.
Although both award-winning ice creams were created by the same confectioner, these sweet couldn’t be more different from each other.
‘In the vanilla ice cream, we combined slightly more classic, more traditional flavors, whereas the passion fruit and caramel ice cream strengthens our new line, a more modern combination’ – Dobó said after the announcement of the results.
This year, two bronze medals were handed out: one to Renáta Somogyi from the Bringatanya Ice Cream Parlor in Gyenesdiás for her ice cream ‘Lime with a hint of mint’ and Andrea Koncz from the Sissi Ice Cream Parlor in Gödöllő for her ‘Treasure of Modena’.
A total of 62 creations entered the ‘Ice Cream of the Year’ competition is 2020, and after the regional semi-finals, 13 creations made it to the final.
