Newest important recognition for the Hungarian cuisine: traditional dishes and desserts are mentioned among best ones in the world.

We all know that Hungarian cuisine is fantastic, but it is nice to see from time to time that other people and websites agree with us, too. Recently, TasteAtlas published their ‘Best Traditional Foods in the World’ list – based on more than 63 000 votes –, and yes, we can find also Hungarian specialities in the compilation.

‘Pizza Margherita from Napoli, Italy has been voted the best world known traditional dish in the world. The second best is the Turkish Adana Kebab, followed by the Japanese Ramen and Peruvian Lomo Saltado’ – they write on their website.

The triumph of the stuffed cabbage

One of the most popular Hungarian dishes, the goulash finished 39th on the list, while another yummy favourite, chicken paprikash is 88th. But wait for the big surprise: in the Meat Dishes category, our stuffed cabbage is on the first place, absolute winner! Fantastic, right?

And we have also a nice result in the dessert section: traditional Hungarian cake zserbó is the 5th on the best desserts list. Hungarian cuisine was ranked as 20th best in the world.
