3 most beautiful places in Budapest for a winter stroll
Posted by Budnews · Jan 8, 2020

Whatever the weather will be, visiting these places is always wonderful.

The main season of tourism is spring and summer, but who said, winter couldn't be beautiful in a new city? If you visit these 3 attractions of Budapest, you will fall in love with the winter city immediately.

Andrássy Avenue

This is the most elegant boulevard of the city, the Hungarian Champs Elysee, that offers an awesome walk in every season. Admire the beautiful buildings, palaces and Heroes’ Square at the end, where City Park begins. We love Andrássy in winter because of its mesmerizing lights and fairytale atmosphere.

Buda Castle

Castle district has totally different mood in winter than in summer. Fewer tourist, more peace, foggy, romantic mood. If you're here in Budapest with your beloved one, don't miss the unique view of Fisherman’s Bastion, visit the Castle and have a nice dinner at one of the small restaurants of the neighborhood.

The Danube and its banks

The best way to explore the city is by taking a walk along the Danube banks, where you can see almost all of the amazing sights, for example the Neo-Gothic Parliament building, Gellért Hill or Buda Castle. If you freeze, drink hot tea in one of the hundreds of cafe shops and bistros of the Danube bank or take it the to go. Our tip: wait until 4-5 o'clock, when the lights of the city are on.
