4+1 super programs for Halloween
Posted by Mia Balogh · Oct 19, 2016

This Halloween won’t be boring – if you choose a program from our compilation, you can be sure about that!

Bored of horror movie nights at home or checking in to one of your best mate’s annual Halloween party? Let us suggest you more exciting and hopefully more frightening programs for this Halloween in Budapest and in the countryside.

1, Gatherings

All the fans of Halloween, pumpkin lanterns, realistic costumes and creepy make up are already waiting for the annual gatherings, where they can show themselves, and admire others’ creations. Well, this year, you shouldn’t miss the Halloween Festival at Vörösmarty Square (every year, this is one of the biggest) and the Charity Pumpkin Festival on Heroes’ Square on 29 October, from 7 PM to 9 PM. To the latter one, bring a few cans or some non perishable food, which will be given to people and especially children in need.

2, Party boat

If you spend a couple of days in Budapest, and you would like to see the city from a boat, we have a good idea: you can do so by attending a Halloween party on a vessel! Purchase your ticket, enter the boat on 29 October, accept your welcome drink from a witch, and after the 2-hour program, let them guide you and your old and new friends to one of the most popular clubs in Budapest, where you can continue partying.

3, Hollywood Horror

Raise the dead – but this time, not by dressing as vampires and zombies, instead in Marylin Monroe, James Dean, Elvis Presley costumes, masks or whatever you like. Dress as your favourite Hollywood star (alive or dead) and enjoy your 15 minutes of fame under the limelight of Fogas Ház. Free entry, huge drink deals are waiting for you and of course hairdressers and make-up artists, to make your appearance even more perfect. See you there on 29 October!

4, Dracula in the Labyrinth

Night tours by oil lantern start after 6 PM in the Labyrinth of Buda Castle, so if you are keen on experiencing a little thrill on the night of ghosts and dead spirits, we suggest you to take a tour here. Did you know that Dracula, the legendary Vlad Tepes was kept in prison here, back in the 15th century? Well, let the adventure start (if you dare).

+1: Programs in the countryside

Budapest is not the only place where you can enjoy Halloween – on 29 October, you can participate at a Halloween running in Debrecen and in Gyula, a night bath experience at Hungarospa Hajdúszoboszló, Halloween boat at Lake Balaton and explore how funny this special occasion can be in the animal parks of Szeged and Győr, for example.
