These rinks provide much more than the pleasure of skating.

Everyone knows the big ice skating rink in the City Park. The biggest and oldest rink of the city is one the most famous winter sights. It’s beautiful indeed, but there are some rinks that are at least as nice and even more unique.

Bálna Ice rink

Bálna Budapest is a huge event center on the Pest side on the Danube shore, with many great craft brasseries and bars. Every year it has its own ice rink at the south end, which totally worth trying. The view is breathtaking: you can admire the hills of Buda, Buda Castle, Citadel, Gellért hill and many of the bridges. It is open until 28 February between 10 AM and 10 PM.

Müpa Ice rink

Müpa, also known as Palace of Arts is the headquarter of theatrical and musical arts. In the winter season, there is a 400 square meters ice rink in front of the main entrance, where we can skate for classical and modern, but quality music. In the Müpa Tent next to the skating rink, more exciting programs entertain visitors: we can take part in colorful children's shows, breathtaking new circus and theater productions, as well as concerts. Müpa rink closes on 28 January, so don’t hesitate.

Intermezzo Ice Terrace on the top of Hotel Prezident

This is the highest ice rink of the city with breathtaking panoramic view. A 110 square meters rink was built at the top of the four-star hotel, from where guests have a 360-degree panoramic view of the city's sights such as St. Stephen's Basilica, Parliament, Buda Castle or the Citadel. Fortunately, the rink is not only available to hotel guests but everyone can buy tickets at the reception. This ice skating rink is open until the 28th of February.
