The new visual plans of the northern section are here.
If you have been to Budapest in the past few months and used the public transport, you have probably experienced that the busiest metro line M3 is under reconstruction. As a part of the complex reconstruction on the line, a modern track will be built, there will be a complete electrical reconstruction, the safety equipment will be replaced, the train control system and conductor system will be replaced, the passenger areas and the stations will be renovated. The renovation of the trains has already started. The first refurbished trains have been in operation since March of 2017.
Currently there is a bus replacement service from the Újpest Központ Terminal to Lehel tér every day, and in the evenings and at the weekends on the whole line. From the now-publicized visuals you can see what this big upturn is for.
The main goal of the architectural design was to renew the passenger areas both from technical and aesthetic aspects, to create a unified image by partially conserving the unique design of the stations. According to the project schedule, passengers will be able to use these new stations in the first half of 2019.
