According to the website onthegotours.com, the hashtag #budapestchristmasmarket has been used 3,187 times at the time of writing their article, so Advent fair at the Basilica is among the most popular Christmas markets in Europe – it took the 12^th place.

The popularity of the market is not surprising, because the location, the atmosphere and the whole event is something amazingly beautiful and extraordinary.

So it is not a wonder that it became one of the 20 most beautiful Christmas fairs in Europe, in a compilation created by European Best Destinations, and in their public voting – after more than 200 000 votes –, the Advent fair at the Basilica came in second, proceeded only by Tallinn’s Christmas market.
