Hungary has a brand new thermal bath and spa

Penészlek and its area was well-known among fishermen but a few years ago it turned out that there was some thermal water in the soil and it was worth thinking of something more…

Penészlek is a small village, approximately 60 km away from Nyíregyháza, Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg county, Hungary. For years, it was a popular place for fishermen, but under the surface some thermal water was found, and as Termál Online reported recently, a thermal bath was founded here.

Ligetalja Thermal Bath and Thermal Hotel is the newest one in Hungary, they write. The healing properties of their thermal water have been proven a few years ago and last year, the thermal bath also obtained the spa title.

They already have treatments like physiotherapy, mud-cure, therapeutic massage, etc. but they plan building a health centre and also renovating the restaurant.

It is also good to know:

If you would like to visit Penészlek, you should know that you can also book a room in the three starred hotel or in one of the 10 family apartments built at the thermal bath and spa so you don’t have to look for accommodation possibilities elsewhere.

The beauties of nature are also worth admiring in the region: there are some rare plants and animals in this highly protected area that you might not have seen elsewhere.
