Hungary will not only have one of the most modern infantry combat vehicles in the world, but we will manufacture them for our soldiers.
We rarely report significant developments in the military industry - partly because they are not very common and partly because this is not our main profile. But now Hungary announced to start manufacturing one of the world's most modern infantry combat vehicles, the Lynx, in cooperation with the German Rheinmetall, which is the largest investment of Hungarian military development in the past decades. The Lynx will be used within the Hungarian Armed Forces, and Hungary will also manufacture combat vehicles for export.
It is not yet known exactly where the factory will be built, what production capacity it will have, and how they will schedule the production of combat vehicles. So why Lynx is so unique? Well, depends on its configuration, it can be
• infantry fighting vehicle,
• command vehicle,
• reconnaissance vehicle,
• technical rescue vehicle,
• and also function as a medical vehicle.
It is not yet known exactly which model we will produce, with what capacity, and to which countries we will deliver it, but it is undoubtedly the most exciting military industry news of recent decades.
