Stop dieting and let’s follow the example of the rural people, who seek joy and happiness in gastronomy.
Gastro Angel festival, the feast of Hungarian flavours will be held next weekend, between 4-6th July 2014. In these three days, the organizers bring the whole Hungary to Budapest so that the visitors could be acquainted with the rural life, the traditional and modern farming and the Hungarian flavours and traditions at first hand.
Beyond a lot of thematic festivals, this event spans the entire Hungarian cuisine from the farmers through the artisans to the kitchen table. During this gastronomic event the exhibitors will also hold presentations, offer tastings and sell their goods. They show the diversity of the base materials too: visitors can get advice on the cognition and different methods of preparation of countless potato, tomato, pepper and bean species.

The invited celebrities and chefs will bake and cook all day in addition to the presentations. The visitors can learn the recipes seen on the same titled TV show (Gastro Angel): the most popular dishes will be prepared on the spot, like the Baja fish soup or the Karcagi lamb stew. In addition to tasting, visitors can gather recipes and practices, whether it is about roasting, bread kneading or the potting of jams, syrups and pickles.
As Marcsi Borbás, the hostess of the TV show and the festival said, they would like if the participant farmers also could give something from their knowledge to the visitors. Just as the TV program, this event also wishes to draw the attention to the importance of artisan foods, traditional, high-quality Hungarian products, and to those people, who prepare these goods with their own hands. She also added that she believes that during the Gastro Angel weekend they could demonstrate the most attractive face of the Hungarian countryside.
